Pricing
Cost for top two rows is $550/niche. Cost for bottom three rows is $450/niche. Opening and closing is included. Additional cost of $100 to open and close on Saturdays. A second opening and closing is an additional $100.
Individual engraved Columbarium niche doors will be provided only thru Glen Forest Cemetery at an additional cost. Please note: Except for a small veteran’s plaque, no additional applications will be allowed on niche doors.
Overview
The Glen Forest Cemetery family strives to provide as many options to our residents as possible. We are constantly monitoring trends in the funeral industry and it is our pledge to offer new and exciting opportunities as they become traditions and not just passing fads.
History
In 2021 the Miami Township Board of Trustees realized that the Glen Forest Cemetery was lacking a necessary option to inter cremated remains other than purchase a full sized traditional grave and then bury the ashes. Not only was there an increasing trend towards cremation instead of a full burial for a deceased loved one but also a desire for burial options other than in-ground.
Glen Forest Cemetery researched various options including Columbariums, mausoleums, single and double bench niches and urn gardens. Ultimately the decision was made to construct a plaza in the main cemetery large enough to hold 3 Columbariums with space for 150 cremated remains. The Columbarium plaza was officially opened in the fall of 2022.
